The ends above the outer 3" of the headlights are open on the bottom and cause the headlights to shine on the inside of the shield. It reflects badly into the driver and passengers eyes. Either the GM shield (what I'm suppose to have installed) has problems or they stuck an after market one on and charged me for a GM accessory.
Anyone have this problem?
I hope for my dealers sake they didn't install a cheap after market shield when they sold me a GM one at a premium price.

Sorry I don't know about your factory set-up , but my shield doesn't give me any glare.

I don't have any reflection problems at all. I have the GM shield installed. you can see pictures of my truck here:

Hope this helps you determine which bug guard you have. Mine says "GM" on the left corner of the bug shield if it's any help.

Looks like the Chevy deflector still wraps under the hood after it passes the outside of the headlight. I think thats the problem with the GMC. It opens up well before the end of the headlight allowing light to reflect on the inside of the shield. Not the best pics but these show the problem. May have to go to a non GM shield.
