Has anyone change the Tranny oil dip stick tub for the 4L80E. My Suburban need one. Many years ago I had to change one on Blazer, 6.2 with a 700R4 and had to lower the rear of the transmission down a few inches. Do you need to do the same on the Suburan?

Filler tubes are a PITA no matter what. Sometimes you can "worry" them out without dropping or moving anything. Sometimes, it's just easier to lower the trans by dropping the crossmember. The fight can last longer if you try to "save time" by not dropping the trans down a bit. There's just not a lot of room at the top and sides of the engine to allow the tube to be manuvered around. Be sure to change the seal in the case!
