Hi all (sorry to the gals - said "guys" in a previous post and forgot that gals have diesels too).
Is there a recommended mileage at which it's safe to start installing mods? I have a new ride and don't want to slap anything on till it's broken in and "safe".
I was thinking 5K miles and at least 1 oil change. Thoughts?

I didn't put anything on mine until after 10k miles, you probably won't hurt anything starting at 5k miles though.

Depends on how close to the dealer u live http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
I live about 13 miles from my dealer so I'd say at 15 miles+/-, pulled it in the shop and put the H2 rims on and cut 3/4" off airdam and tied the inners out of the way.
It takes me 4-5 hours to strip off the stuff then put it all back on the next one.
Some put them on soon others wait a bit.
How about some specs on the kids, hard working?

I added gauges first at 2500 miles, AFE and Banks monster at 5000, edge juice at 9000.. so far so good.. I think your right about waiting until at least 1 oil change and 1 external tranmission filter change.. IMHO http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif Edited by: david b
