Dmaxillatech and MaxPower have already been helpful with some measurments, but I need a few more before the install.
The hoist is a Atlas V10, which is a versametric.
I need to know how far to put it away from the front wall of my shop in order to be able to back on a CC long box truck.
I would also like to know exactly where the post would be in relation to the truck when it is backed on.
Thanks for any help

Not exact but you'll need at least 10 feet in order to back a CCLB on, post may be where the doors meet, give or take a bit. Most of that depends on what kind of adapters come with hoist. With ours at the shop we can only use the flat portion of the frame, that means the rear arm is only a few inches behind cab... the box is hanging out in space. Trust me, a CCLB is scary on a hoist, they sway a LOT. Put a lift kit on a CCLB F350... I was shaking worse than the truck, needless to say it only went as high as my jackstands allowed
Why do you want to back truck onto hoist?

When I put my CCSB on the Hoist at my house I put the Hoist pillar at the drivers door, I have had it on that lift in many different positions and that one is by far the most stable. With a LB I would say were the doors meet.

U need it farther away from the wall if your backing it in instead of pulling it in.
How long is your shop?
I hope it's over 32'.

Thanks for all the advise guys but I have already had it installed for over a month now. My original post was in January. I installed it about 14' from the back wall and about 3' from the side wall. The reason I would like to back the truck on is that then I will have the entire shop to do whatever work to it, instead of being cramped up against the front wall. The shop is 48' long so there was plenty of room

My best advice is to have Eric come and wire it up for you.):h

Just be sure and get some of those tall jackstands so you can have them on each end of the truck. With 4 on it you will feel a lot better.
