Duramax Dually 03-02-2004, 01:20 PM Do any of you NorCal guys have the name and number of the custom bumper manufacturer located by Yuba City area I believe. I remember it starting with a "R". They manufacture custom Heavy duty set ups like the Ranch Hand company.

hdmax 03-03-2004, 07:57 PM I believe this bumper is built in Texas http://www.trailready.com/images/Events/GMCHDside.jpg (http://www.trailready.com/images/events/GMCHDside.jpg)
But it is the best looking one, in my opinion! Their main page is www.trailready.com (http://www.trailready.com)
Burner 03-03-2004, 08:12 PM I would really like an Aluminum bumper that looked like the Trail Ready! Does anyone make such a thing? I am concerned about more nose weight.

I've got a brochure on an aluminum one. I'll try to dig it up tomorrow. I saw it in person. It is a huge chunk of aluminum. I bet they'll want a fortune.
I'm seriously considering a bumper from www.buckstop.biz (http://www.buckstop.biz).
Interesting read about Road Armor bumpers versus Trailready on the Trail's web site. I wonder who does a better job???Edited by: Jeli
HossKartrite 03-03-2004, 11:54 PM This one is aluminum

Jeli - How did you make out? Also considering the buckstop.

freddyo 03-21-2004, 11:52 PM You also might check www.toughcountry.com. Having run accross one of their bumpers in Mexico, I ordered one by phone when I got home. I sent them my driving and fog lights so that they could cage them. They were very accomodating and built it the way that I wanted it including making it air tight so it could serve as my air resevoir and adding slots on each side to accomodate a Hi-Lift. They are just a bit east of Houson and I drove there and back last week for the install (from northern Nevada). What a good excuse/opportunity to bond with my new baby!
I also had them fab me a set of nerf bars out of schedule 40 set in so to protect my rocker panels (as opposed to providing a step for the height challenged).
I was pleasantly surprised with the professional quality of their work as well as the install - pretty much just plug and play. Well engineered, finished, and built to be tough without unnecessary mass. The weight is about 220 lbs. for the bumper.
Alaska Duramax 03-22-2004, 10:33 AM Trailready is in Washington.

jjgmc 03-24-2004, 10:42 PM I agree with freddyo look a tough county products I bought a deluxe front end replacement after hitting a deer going 70 mph. My stainless brushguard did not do much. The replacement is well made I had them spray it with bedliner
problemchild 03-25-2004, 12:59 AM Does anyone make a cool front bumper that doesnt cost 2k. Maybe a cheap chinese knockoff?
I just ordered a buckstop yesterday. I think it was 1425.00 or so if I recall + 80.00 for the 6" Hella lights. Shipping would be around 120.00 on top of that to Cal. Delivery is about 4 weeks.
I think you pretty much get what you pay for. Unfortunately, steel pricing is high due to in part, China purchasing all the scrap metal out there.
The buckstop does not (yet) come in a bumper only configuration for the GMC/Chev models so if this is what you wanted, then roadarmor would be a good choice. Their web site lists the basic stealth bumper in black for 1270.00
TheDuramax 07-29-2004, 12:02 AM Check out these aluminum bumpers at Earthroamer (http://www.earthroamer.com)
The bumper is built by someone else. I have their brochure at work. I saw them at a trade show in Cali. Beautiful but oh my God expensive!!!
