: charge path?

Well I put my trailer brake contoller in today, and after testing to make sure it works I noticed the power jack on the trailer was a little slow. The plus shows that their should be a 12v source, but there is no voltage their to charge the batteries on the trailer. Does the wire have to be connected under the hood of a fuse added? I check the owners manual and couldn't find anything about the charge path, any help would be appreciated.

Only a fuse needs to be added underhood, BUT I think it is already there with the diesels. Owner's manual will tell you.

The fuse isn't installed. It comes attached (taped) to the pigtail with the trailer option (that hooks up to the electric brake controller. Do a search on electric trailer brakes and you should find the info you are looking for.

I had to add one fuse on mine to get the 12v line to the trailer. Check and make sure that you have fuses in both the "stud#1" and "stud #2" fuse positions in the under-hood fuse panel.

Cool, thanks guys, my manual has a misprint, it says not to install the fuse with dual batteries, nothing about the aux. battery option, I did it and it works great!!

as I understand it all manuals say that. It doesn't work right without it.
