Its for LLY's so if you have an LB7 you don't need one.

Long answer - It modifies the MAF signal provided to the PCM so the PCM thinks the EGR valve is working correctly and the EGR flow is going into the intake, but you see it is not because there is a blocker plate on the EGR.

Short answer - it used to keep from getting EGR codes (and light on some trucks) when the EGR is blocked or you put on an after market exhaust.

won't work on LB7's since most LB7's don't have EGR. The 04 CA LB7's are setup different.

Not necessarily Briano, if you have an 03-04 lb7 california truck it will have an egr and cat. Im pretty sure that ppe makes a finger stick for the lb7 and the egr plate is the same as the lly plate. But some have ran the plate with no codes on the lb7.

Okay, let me get this straight.....

My truck is a '04 LB7 California w/ cat (well it did til the frontpipe went one ;) ).

So do I have the egr and will the "plate" help do anything?

this is true and I actually typed that in my post and removed it..I quoted from Fingers write up that said it was for LLY's only.

if you had one it would be located right here....

passenger side, above fuel filter, almost to the firewall.

Thanks Briano...will check today.

BTW, if it does and I put on the "plate", what will this do/benefit?????

Thanks.

As far as performance you probably wont notice but it prevents the exhaust from recirculating into your intake which is known to cause some build up.

funny you ask.. lol

also from LLY FAQ.. hehe, one of the main benefits as already stated is the recirculation of exhaust into the oil.. Diesels blacken the oil already, but I'd rather have it take longer than without the blocker plate.
