When I push the button to turn on my map lights the light does not come on but the cargo light icon comes on but the cargo light is not on. When I turn on my interior lights and I push a map light button that light goes off and the cargo light icon comes on but no cargo light? Any ideas on my problem?:help:

I have a similar problem with mine. When I push the button for the map light the indicator for the cargo lamp comes on, but no cargo light. It only does this one time, and it only happens when I push the driver's side button. I took it to the dealer and they said it was from my after market guages- I have my edge attitude mounted up in console. They said I shouldn't have used the map light for a power source!!! I said ok and left. Didn't want to show them where it was plugged in at.

04llygmc-We had a thread about that.. If you mean the cargo light indicator on the dash flashes for a second when you turn the map light on, then everyone's truck seems to do it. Mine does. My dad's and brother's both do it.

crs2fer's problem is something wierd in the wiring, not sure what and evidently it hasn't happened to many other's since no one else has posted about it yet...

Excellent!! Just my luck. A local dealer hooked up a Tech 2 and found a battery rundown protection code which we really didn't thought would relate?:(

I to am having the same problem with the cargo lamp indicator being lit up all of the time after an a-pillar gauge install. Used the fuse tap method as per BMDmax's write up in DIY section. HOWEVER, when drilling one of the holes in the a-pillar to secure the gauge mount the wiring harness slipped 2 wires were scathed. Wires have been soldered together and heat shrank and cannot find any blown fuses underhood or inside drivers door. No codes found with Predator. Does anyone know where the fuse for the cargo lamp is found, IIRC the owners manual says the fuse is located to the left of the steering wheel under the dash. I cannot locate any fuses in that area?? Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

As you can see this is my first post...I have been lurking in the shadows for a little over a year now and have caught the mods disease-:t !

Finally took it into my dealer and they found a blown fuse. My wife took it in so I have no details on which fuse it was.

Hm, so it doesn't do it anymore? Mine does this as well...hit the map light, and the cargo light icon flashes on the dash. Just thought it was a known anomoly.
