Hey guys, like it says he ran out of fuel. i am trying to talk him through it over the phone but we still cant get it to crank. The bleeder valve on the bottom of the fuel filter... is it the only one? What is the easiest and fastest way to bleed it and get it to crank? Thanks guys

The bleeder valve isn't on the bottom. It's on the top of the filter head assembly. Loosen and push on primer to allow the air out. When fuel starts to show, close the bleeder screw.

The Water-in-fuel sensor is what's on the bottom.

To bleed, loosen the bleeder screw "it is black and made of plastic with a hex on the outside that your 13mm socket will fit" some and then prime using the primer pump. Just push it in and let it release then push again, continue until you get fuel from the bleeder screw. Once you get fuel from the bleeder, tighten the screw and pump about 15 more times or until the primer becomes noticably harder to push. Make sure that he has several gallons in the tank....1 or 2 gallons may not cut it.

The fuel filter bleeder is on top of the filter. It's a black plastic hex bolt with a screwdriver slot in it.
Back the bleeder out about a turn or two. The filter housing has a built in pump, (also mounted on top of housing), which is about 1 1/2 " diameter. Start pumping until fuel comes out of bleeder screw. It could take 100 pumps or more. When fuel comes out of bleeder, tighten bleeder carefully, barely hand tight. If over-tightened, it will brake. Now pump the pump until it gets hard. Start the truck. Usually it starts on first try. If not, you may have to repeat bleeding through bleeder screw.

I have done this to my 03 lots of times. On the passenger side up near the windshield is the filter. On top of the filter is a silver push button about 1" in diameter. Push it down a lot. At first it will kind of bottom out. When it starts getting primed it will get a little resistance to it. When it gets tight try to start it then. If it does not start repeat. Most of the time when you turn the motor over if it does not start the push button will get soft again. Just push it until it tightens up again. It usually takes my truck about 3 or 4 starts to stay running.

I guess I wasn't clear enough....loosen the bleeder screw and pump the primer until fuel comes out.
