Truck had about 300 miles on it when I picked up the tailer in the pic. Towing with tow haul on at 63 for 300miles and 71 for 175 miles with a VERY strong head wind I got 7.4 on the DIC. For the return trip with no trailer, the winds had changed and were hitting me head on again at a 45 degree angle. 72-75 mph 14.3 on the DIC. Second trailer with still some pretty hard winds I got 9.3 on the DIC and the empy trip back at 72 mph 18.7 on the DIC. Love the truck, hope the fuel economy picks up a little more.
Got 06 Silverado and pull a three car trailer, sometimes as much as thirty thousand pounds gross. Just turned 11,000 miles. I,m just at 9 mpg loaded and 12mpg just trailer. 21 just the Silverado. I LOVE MY SILVERADO! 65 to 70 everywhere I go.

How many miles do you have on it now! Also, do a hand calc, as my DIC shows about .5 to .9 less than actual.
Any women can explain why, it is because DIC's always lie, even when they don't have to. Wonder where they learnt that?

Does anyone drive 55mph? I just returned from a 15200 mile road trip (not in a diesel, My little S-10) and in the states where the speed limit was 55 mph, no one did it. I would love to drive a duramax 55mph to get the REAL economy mpg numbers. I bet I could get 24mpg out of a DUALIE!

My LLY will get 22 plus at 50 to 55 mph. Done it several times.

Hi, All ! So far my LBZ has gotten right at 14, solo, back and forth to work (14 mi.), BUT, There's been lots of "warm-up" time and several trips in 4X4, due to rotton roads. The truck has about 1300 mi., and from what I've heard here, should do better as it breaks-in. We've only pulled the 5er 2 times, both 60 mi. jaunts, and I must say, THIS THING HAS GUTS!!! in fact, it seemed to run "stronger", and "cheaper' after each "work-out" ! Taking off for Fla. in 2 days, so I'll know a lot more then. My combined wt. is 18,640 ,wet. My '01 6.0 would get about 7 to 7.5 (down hill, tailwind, and at 55 clicks!) This should be much better, and even if I don,t get "super" mileage, I know I'll have a HUGE grin on my face... THIS THING IS SUPER!!:) CROW
