Has anyone tried this, or know if it will work and how it might look?

They are selling on ebay 17X8, 8 on 6.5 should bolt on, will the chevy center cap work with it? They appear to have plently of backspacing for running bigger tires. Any thoughts?

Should work, you will only lose the hub-centric of the stockers.

hubcentric? what does that mean?

The wheels for the GM trucks have a Hub that fits nice and snug up against the axle housing.

Hub centric rings are manufactured so that when they are installed on a vehicle, the wheels are located directly off of the centre flange of the brake drum or rotor. This is done to insure that the outer beads of the wheel are concentric with the wheel bearings. The result is a much truer, better balanced tire/wheel assembly. This is very important with modern high tech suspension systems.

So with that in mind, I would not even try it.. Besides, you are not suppose to put those wheels on a GM truck anyway. It is bad karma..

I remember reading a post a while back saying they would fit but would not work.

Yeah they would fit but you would have to get some sleeves made to make up the difference in the hub. IIRC someone posted a link to a guy that made hubcentric rings to fix the problem in a recent thread. Try searching "hubcentric", its still got to be there.

And if you change your mind I know where some H2's are for a good deal.

Aren't just about all aftermarket wheels non-hubcentric?

I'm looking for some hummer wheels.
