Anyone use a nos kit to cool the intercooler???not to inject into the motor.

Just thinkin` out loud again:ro)

You could do that with liquid nitrogen, it would probably be cheaper.

I thought about that but i alerady have all the nitrous stuff from my drag racing days just sitting around here collecting dust.

Just curoius if anyone else has done this and were the results worth the effort???:ro)

I had the same idea watching a tractor pull on TV. Those guys have a box infront of intercooler that is full of ice water, to cool the air. and if it works good a 32* why not put Nitrous in and be cooling air at -45*??

why not just spray the NITROUS....into the engine? I mean that is what its made for right? Probably yeild better results...save the intercooler spray to C02 and such...alot cheaper

why not both then? and make that engine run REALLY COLD!

why pay for two NITROUS kits?

Plus w/ the sprayer kit you can spray alot of cold water over a vast amount of intercooler..

the NITROUS kit is just a lil ring that goes in front of the intercooler...basic ally for smaller intercoolers..not the big ones Diesel's have

Why not just run the purge to the intercooler?

the way you introduce this cooling effect is by shooting the (nitrous oxide, CO2, ect) all over the intercooler from infront of it?

would spraying water help at all?

i remember on my old 1967 pontiac tempest (gets hot) i would redirect one of the windshield washer squirters to mist the radiator and it would drop temps by 40* degrees F or so if you held the button for a half a minute.

You will get booted off the dragstrip(and possibly get your but kicked if you casue someone to head for the wall) by hosing water(or any liquid) on your IC.

Hosing a gas onto your IC will help in theory.......is it worth the cost??? Well most people just dump it straight into the motor. I would bet you would pick up a few HP. The spraying your purge onto your IC wouldnt help for long. The gas has to be getting hosed constantly to give it any effectiveness from what I have been told.

If you have a N2O kit you would be better off spraying a SMALL shot instead of hosing the IC with a LARGE shot IMO.

Nitrous is an Extremely effective "cooler" for compressed air systems. You'll see greater drops than with an intercooler, and when used in conjunction with an intercooler (sprayed after it) you'll get phenominal results from the cooling alone, that's not even taking the oxidizer factors into play.

Anybody know how long you can "cool" the ic with this kit... http://www.designengineering.com/products.asp?m=sp&pid=4&tid=2

The FAQ section on their website has five questions...Lots of help!

Unless you were asking how many seconds a bottle should last per how big it is and what the kit is spraying? I wasnt meaning to be a smart ass if thats the question you were actually asking? I believe there were some formula's posted somewere in the N2O hints and tips section.
