Bilstein's and nicktane went on this weekend. Cranked torsion bars up 6 full turns. All seems well.

Any ideas on the easiest way to trim the air dam to make extra room for the 285's going on as I write this. Dremel, roto zip?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated?

Dremmel. Less chance of only being able to count to nine from now on!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif Better control of the cut and safer too!

I used a dremel. Worked great.

how much do you need to cut off? I have a 04 gmc if that helps.

I don't have a dremel and thought the rotozip might be a little too powerful. Trimmed about 3/4 of an inch with a hacksaw and filed it down. Worked perfect. Looks good and the new shoes have room to turn. Thanks for the help.

On my '03 GMC, I trimmed about 1-1/2" on the innermost point next to the front tires - not out where you can see the trimming - with a Sears rotozip tool.

That looks just about like mine.

I don't think that my 255's would hit it without being trimmed, but man it'd be a close thing hitting deep bumps - I wouldn't want to rip my bumper up.

We all know how STOUT these bumpers are...

I have an 03 chevy. I drew a straight line with a pencil from the top of the air dam straight down 3/4 of an inch in. I started the cut from the bottom. I took the first cut piece and used it as a template for the other side. If I needed more room I was going to draw another line at an angle from the bottom to the top giving me an extra 1/2 of an inch at the bottom. I took it to the school parking lot last night and cranked the wheel in both directions driving backwards and forwards over the speed bumps and not a single rub. If you want a picture let me know. It took less than 5 minutes to cut both and file them.
