I have a 2002 Chevy extended cab. I'd like to use a magnetic roof mounted CB antenna and don't know if the wire will be able to run through the crack in the rear door. Does anyone know if there are any openings to pull a wire between the truck body and the bed?

I've had mine run through the door for several years with no problem. The rubber seal goes around the cable fine.

I run mine over and then I drop it into the inside of the rubber channel. Then I run it all the way down to the front door hinge, loop it and run it in under the dash. This way theres no water problem, and you can't see the coax except on top of the truck.

Give any thought to getting the bracket Eric sells, it fits on the drivers side front near the hood. Once installed, the antenna looks like the radio antenna. Food for thought.

Just to update the thread, I still dont have them. I personally am very PISSED with the manufacturer of them. These have been on order for well over 90 days now. I know Rolloff has made a bracket and it might be nice option for those that dont mind fabbing.

I will make a post when the brackets finally do become available, but I make no promises anymore to when...

You can make one very easily out of a piece of scrap steel...I made mine and didn't even have to do any welding....IIRC, it was just 9 inch long piece of 1/8th inch steel, 1 inch wide...Drilled 3 holes, made 2 bends in bench vise...Works fine..But be sure to ground it electrically to the chassis...

It passed the 115+ mph wind test too...

If you want the drawings with measurements, installation pics, etc., shoot me a pm with an email addy and I will forward them to you.

SoMnDuramax was the origniator with the idea and measurments and drawings, which he was kind enough to share with all. Not hard to make or mount. Looks factory. He used a 4-foot FireStik. I use a 3-foot FireStik. Others will work, too.

Good luck on your project.
