I went and bought some black diamond plate bed rail protectors. I had my wife help me put them on. I peeled off the tape cover and held the protector in place and asked here how her end looked. She claimed it was lined up. Long story short it wasn't. Now, how do I get these off and re-apply without screwing everything up?

Ugh...Good luck..If it isn't off by a ton, I would leave it (and tell she owes you big time) ):h It's amazing how well that tape holds, especially to a flat surface such as the rails.

if they are anything like the stick on plastic ones i had on my 2002, it wont be long and they will come off on their own and start scratching the paint. i figured with a tool box on top of them they wouldn't move, they didn't under the box, but the 4 1/2 feet behind the box did. Hope you have better luck than i did. oh, and i had them done by a shop that tinted my windows so that may be why they came off...:( i don't let anybody do stuff like that any more.

How off are they? If it's bad, I'd try something like Goo Gone, or ask a body/detail shop what they would recommend.

Use a hair dryer to help loosen adhesive on tape. Good luck as the orange backed stuff holds quite well.
And my plastic one started to come up as well.... coupla rivets later problem solved.
