: The Power Pup is here
TA Dave 12-27-2005, 03:23 PM Well it arrived today, I installed it on the Tow / Econ mode and it feels good.
You can tell a big difference taking off from a stop, light pressure on the pedal now gets you moving much better. I also noticed that you use a lot less pedal to maintain speed as well. From a stop, just letting off the brake the truck goes to about 5mph or so with your foot off the pedal.
There were no shifting re learn issues at this level, everything seems very stock, except for the added power. Before when it shifted there was a noticable On/Off feeling in the power, thats gone, now it's much smoother.
As I bought this to help with MPG and towing my 28ft race trailer, I'll keep it in this mode. However, there is an 05 Ford F350 than needs some attention, I'll step up to the Performance level for him... ;)
Rcher 12-27-2005, 03:57 PM Can the power pup adjust speedometer for tire sizes?
TA Dave 12-27-2005, 04:02 PM Yes, up to 35 inch, it may go higher, but the ABS light will glow.
It will remove the speed limits as well, but the 06 is totally adjustable in 5 mph settings.
TTA89 12-27-2005, 04:31 PM How does this install? Just plug it into the ALDL and it flashes the PCM? How much is the Tow mode supposed to add?
TA Dave 12-27-2005, 06:08 PM You pull 4 fuses, hook up to the computer and push a few buttons and it's done in about 2 minutes. Don't forget to put the fuses back. ;)
The tow mode adds 48 HP and 134 TQ, performance mode is 69 and 209 with extreme being 138/294. But the Allison won't like that for long.
DMAX KING 12-27-2005, 08:01 PM One day soon you will put it on extreme and you wont believe the difference.
TA Dave 12-27-2005, 11:42 PM ):h I already hit the performance setting tonight, it felt great but with the quick shifting it seemed to be shifting more than pulling. ;)
I don't have a boost or EGT so I went back to towing...:)
Rcher 12-28-2005, 12:52 AM I don't have a boost or EGT so I went back to towing...:)
I would assume you plan to install gauges? I would be interested to know the EGT's in each tune of the power pup. I am waiting to see all the power options available for the LBZ. Actually, my interest is in the Edge but will consider all the options available for this motor.
JoshH 12-28-2005, 02:08 AM Is this on an LBZ or LLY?
TA Dave 12-28-2005, 03:59 PM Josh, I have an lly, but it works on both.

I got mine today, one word wow! I dont have guages either so I didn't beat on it to much, but I'm ready to put a union pacific sticker on the side because she smokes like a train. now just the wait for the outlook, and let the real fun begin):h
Josh61513 12-29-2005, 11:47 PM Does it bump it to LLY power specs + the advertised hp gain, or to lbz power specs + the advertised hp gain?
Josh61513 12-30-2005, 01:01 PM nevermind, I called bullydog
They said the economy/tow tune (level 1) will bump up the power of the lly and lbz to the same amount, i.e. you gain 5-10hp with the lbz on level 1, but 55-60hp with the lly. An lly truck with the level 1 program will be identical to an lbz truck with the level 1 program, and the same for other levels. Sweet.

HOTROD06LBZ 01-01-2006, 10:50 PM 138/294. But the Allison won't like that for long.

I got mine today... Went by the instructions, pulled 4-fuses, turned key to "on" (without the engine running)... It says... "Unknown Part #04C052CC Error 6 Contact Bully Dog"...:(
I'm calling tomorrow... I hope they're there...:damnit1:
I suppose the Dodge guy will claim it's because I have a Duramax :idiot:
TA Dave 01-01-2006, 11:37 PM Someone else had an issue like that and Bully Dog sent him the needed info.
Mine went very smoothly, and I went from stock to Tow, tow to Power, and then back to tow over three days without issue.
Jeff, Go get him, I hear it's already had a head gasket issue...
06lbzduramax 01-01-2006, 11:42 PM mine worked fine also below is a link to the one with the simmilar problem.
