This was a little scary. I was driving home passing cars left and right, pretty much driving like an A$$h@7e! Speedo was reading 80mph, boost gauge at about 30psi and my egts barely hitting 1200*. When all of a sudden, POW! followed by a heavy whistling sound. Yes it was the intercooler tube, it came out of its sleeve. Has anyone experienced this with and or without the Boost Stick? If so did you just crank down the clamp on the sleeve, or double clamp it? :help:

It's been known to happen now and then.

Happened to me with no BS or tuner. The more I researched, I found that it is not that uncommon. It is now just part of my maintaince to check if the clamps are tight.

Did you get your driver seat cleaned after the big BANG!!!!!!

very common it seems among our trucks. I actually had this happen in my supercharged car.. it came loose off of the intake during full boost...scared the bajesus out of me!!

When you have time take the hose connections apart and clean with lacquer thinner and allow to dry. Once dry place a very thin coat of silicone sealer on the inside of the hose then slide in place and clamp. Allow the silicone about 6 hours to dry in 60 deg weather, longer if colder. This will solve them coming apart again.

Thanks for the reply and I'll definately take your advice. For a short term fix, I cleaned the sleeve of all oil/diesel and connected it back up. I like your solution better.

Thanks again!

I'm now wondering if this is what I'm close to? Time to go out and check the truck when I get home!
