I have received my Firestone Ride-Rite Airbags. They recommend you mount the compressor under the hood, but on my 2002, 2500 HD Chevrolet with a Duramax, there isn't much room to spare under the hood. I noticed some of you guys are running the airbags, so I was just wondering where you were mounting the compressor. Also, if a picture is available that would be very helpful, but if not just a description would be great.

I plan on installing on Saturday, so any and all help would be much appreciated. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

I made a bracket and mounted mine on the right outside of the frame. The bracket protects it from road debris. I do have a CC/LB.

Thanks for the reply Horse Trainer. Anyone else have any ideas? I mounted mine on a specially made bracket on the left side of the engine where the second alternator would go.

I mounted mine on the inside of the frame on the passenger side, beside the rear portion of the fuel tank. I figured it would stay cleaner there than the outside of the frame.

I put mine on the outside frame under the passenger doors (CC) on the right side in a trailer battery box. That way I have access and yet it is still kept dry. I also put valve fitting so I can hook an air hose.

On my 2002 2500HD I had it on a custom bracket inside the frame under the rear seat area. I had a 5 gallon tamk that just fit inside the forward box fender well. I mounted the solenoids on a running board brace that also shielded them form road debris. Sorry - no pictures. I am planning on doing something similar to my 04 3500 when I get the parts.

Good luck, Zeke
