Have a edge juice now (LLY) wondering whether to stack a ppe hot with it or remove the edge and stack a VA box with a PPE?

PPE is a damn strong tune, you could run your Edge on 0 or 1 if you need it for gauges...For maximum LLY carnage, get the VA and stack away.

I've got all three. On my truck, I found that the only setting that I could run the Edge on was 0. Anything else and the bursting started big time. This was with the PPE Hot on Extreme and the VA on the middle setting. Debating whether to sell the E/A as it doesn't contribute anything performance wise at this point but is nice for monitoring purposes. If your Edge doesn't have the Attitude, or you have other gauges and don't need it for monitoring, I'd go with the PPE and VA. That combo ran much stronger on my truck.

Did you ever try running the E/J with one tune or the other? If so, what were the results?

Get the new 180 VA. It stacks great w/ PPE Hot. The 220 VA should be out before spring and the updates are very reasonable in price. Merchant can hook ya up.

All results point to VA and PPE. I hope your tranny is part of the mods you have done.

Yes. I'll offer these observations with the caveat that I haven't run my truck at the track so all of this is by my own SOTP meter based on my truck. My first attempts at stacking were with the Predator 2.0 and the E/A version 1.2. Initially wanted to stack not for performance, but because I wanted the display information the Edge w/Attitude provides. Tried a bunch of different settings with that. Slipped my tranny 3x with the Predator on 40 and Edge on level 2. Didn't think that would be too much for the Ally, but I was obviously wrong  . Got a Mike L Suncoast IV. Was then able to try some other combos without worrying about the trans. Got a Boost Stick. That made a noticeable improvement on the low end and less smoke. Somewhere in here, tried the Predator on 100 with the boost stick by itself. Tried the Edge on 5/5 and boost stick by itself. Set 1093's with both. Got lift pumps and shimmed FPRV. No more 1093's and truck ran noticeably smoother. Ended up back with the Predator on 40 and the Edge on low boost fueling 5 and level 5 as the best and most powerful daily driver. I now had the HP bug bad and looking for more. Got the PPE and replaced the Predator with that. Huge increase in power with the PPE Hot on Extreme, like night and day difference in SOTP feel. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to like the Edge on any setting with bad bursting on any level, at least on my truck. Don't exactly know what the engine is doing when this bursting thing is happening, but it can't be good and I won't run my truck like that even just a little. Got the VA because the PPE on Extreme is kind of touchy throttle wise and surges at freeway cruising speed. The VA seems to tone it down a bit and makes it smoother to drive. Right now, I'm running the PPE Hot on Extreme with the VA on the middle level as a daily driver. I also tried the VA on kill. A little more power, but way too much smoke for me at that level and I pegged my boost gauge at over 35 psi so went back to the middle setting. What I've learned from this so far is that there is no one perfect tuner. They all have their place and good and bad points.

Well, I think you pretty much helped me move in another direction. Your the umpteenth person that has confirmed that the E/J doesn't stack well. I really chose it for the monitor thinking that it wouldn't have a problem adapting to other programmers but obviously it does. Guess it's going to become a $1000 set of gauges or I need to ditch it and install some real ones. I feel like it's a bit optimistic in it's readings anyway.

If Merchant don't have the VA box, try Mark Craig.
