I have read through all the threads about longer shocks and shock extenders and the like. i just have cranked torsion bars; no green keys or anything like that. The truck has 10k miles on it and the stock shocks seem to be gone already. i just need a shock that will smooth out the ride a bit and give me a little better controled feeling on the highway. thanks in advance.

I'm also interested in better shock absorbers.

Is Bilstein still about the best you can get?

I run Bilsteins in my truck, it had Trailmaster SSV's which are typical trailmaster, just not that good. I like the Bilsteins they ride a little harsher but i like it. You could also try Rancho RS9000's which are great, or even Skyjacker Nitros's or Platinum's. Stay away from Rancho RS5000's, Skyjacker Hydro's, Any BDS Product, Trailmaster, Pro-Comp.

I tried the bilsteins on my 3500 and didnt notice a difference over the factory shocks, so i put the rs 9000 on and like the way you can soften the truck up or stiffen it up for the heavy loads.

I replaced the stock shocks after about 5k miles with Bilsteins. A noticable improvement. The Rancho's seem to get good reviews too.
