: Truck won't move! Tranny???

New to site. Hello Boys:p: Need help with Dead truck. GMC 1500 Sierra. Was working fine, until Saturday. Seemes to be in neutral when in drive. Sounds like marbles. Transmission fluid not low, still reddish, does not smell burnt. Need Help!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, you didn't mention that it's a 2WD (but that's what the vin points to since you posted it in the Vin check)
At any rate, it sounds to me like you broke the sun shell in the transmission.

It might help to know the year of the truck :-D any idea what tranny it has?

Sorry... VIN check says, it's a 4L60E tranny 2000 GMC sierra 1500.

Wont move in any gear/range?

A broken shell will still allow it to move, but only in first and third.

No the truck does not move in any gear. Sounds like it has marbles in it.

converter or transfer case..


Doh, its a 2 wheeler...... Back to converter. Planatary set is possible, but typically it would try and do something like it would catch. I suppose if you split the reaction carrier it wont matter... Ok, I talked myself into thinking planatary..

Your next move is to drop the pan and look and see whats in it.

I'm sure you have checked, but make sure the driveshaft isn't moving when put it in gear. This happened to be and it was not the tranny but the pinion gear in the rearend!!
