dmaxalliTech 02-26-2004, 08:42 AM Many of you have noticed that my e-commerce store is down, after only being up for a short time. I am switching over to a new store format that isnt fussy if your using aol like the last one. It would also not process the order if it didnt want too. I was too often having money show up in my Paypal acct with nothing to connect it to. That would just lead to aggravation. I am installing a new store and finalizing my legal business stuff including setting up LLC. Thats the hold up on reopening the store at this point. I have added all of the products that were in the old store plus added a lot more, set up more products from outside vendors that will be of interest to most. I appreciate all of you who have ordered from me in the past and those that are patient enough to work with me through this 'growing pain' As soon as state gets done draggin their feet, I will reopen.

<TD>[B]Base Rail Package, Fl
Got my first order today.
Everything went without a hitch. It will be nice when he gets his secure server, but since I already use PayPal, everything worked just fine.
Thanks Eric...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
dmaxalliTech 06-09-2004, 05:07 PM secure server is getting very close.. I know that will make things much easier/better for alot of you. Thanks to all who support
HBruns 06-12-2004, 10:20 PM I placed two orders, and they both came in several days sooner than I expected. I did get a "heads up" about a back-ordered item, which is expected to ship soon. Good service!
There are a couple things I'd like to get, which I have talked to dmaxalliTech about.
What would you folks think about a kit with the necessary tools, fittings, gaskets & filters to change transmission fluid? It is my guess that the low-pressure air method of emptying the transmission is more efficient and does a better job than using the engine to pump out fluid a gallon at a time then adding a gallon of new fluid until you go through ~5 gallons (which is a very easy method). See this thread for more info:
http://dieselplace.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1557&PN=1&TPN=2
The necessary fiting(s) for the air method would probably be inexpensive, but I don't know what is needed. A good set of directions would also be a big plus for those of us who have yet to do it.
Comments?
Thanks!
HBruns
Dave Lewis 06-12-2004, 10:51 PM Eric's service was great. Iwould like to see the transmission kit as well.
dmaxalliTech 06-14-2004, 12:24 AM any other interest? Dunno what to do really as I am unsure what would be easiest... Will have to put the flush machine away and try it old school to see I guess
jholly 06-14-2004, 01:43 AM any other interest? Dunno what to do really as I am unsure what would be easiest... Will have to put the flush machine away and try it old school to see I guess
Well, I don't have a flush machine. The pump the fluid out using the engine sounds workable, but really sounds like a major PITA. Especially with the caution about "be careful with the little spring". Certainly somewhat hard by yourself. The low pressure air, blow the stuff out method sounds easier for one person do do. If I had a kit with fittings, gaskets and all I would be more inclined to get that to do the job.
Jim
HBruns 06-17-2004, 02:57 AM jholly,
Yup - my thoughts exactly, and I don't have a flush machine either. I'm stuck doing it in my driveway. I'm also concerned with both the cost of fluid and doing the best job possible. I'll be using the Amsoil Torque-Drive fluid, which is supposed to be an equivalent reverse-engineered version of Allison/Castrol Transynd. It's only a couple bucks a gallon more than their regular synthetic ATF (~$107 for 5 gal), so using it with regular Dextron-III change intervals is not cost-prohibitive like Transynd is.
Without any hands-on knowlege, the low pressure air method seems like it would be a better method. I'm awaitning a Transgo manual for the Allison, and hopefully the preferred method is detailed in it.
dmaxalliTech did E-mail me with his opinion that the repeated pump-a-gallon & refill method sounded best, though he had never used any other method than a flush machine. This method is designed to mix old & new fluid, which does not sound optimal to me. What I have seen of dmaxalliTech's advice tells me he knows what he's talking about. The difference between my impression and his advice tells me to wait for further information - the manual and/or his direct experience with the methods.
Anyway.... the low-pressure air fitting is the only part that cannot be easily purchased from our supporting vendors. For now, I'd be happy with just that fitting and knowing two things:
Excactly what port to use it in and how much pressure?
Thanks,
HBruns
