Took the original spin-on filter off for a change out,and compared it to the WIX filter.I noticed that the dia. of the small holes circle is smaller. This will
cause the magnet to almost completly cover all the small holes. Will this cause any problems in the circulation of the trans fluid. This is the frist time I've changed it .i did a search to see if this has been discussed and found nothing. It would seem that less fluid passing thru the filter might not be a good thing.Any info would really help.

Thats the reason I only buy the actual Allison spin on's.

The only filter to use is the Allison. I have never even tried another filter.

My first change I used a Wix, I took it off a week later when I found it leaking. For some reason it was weeping around the base area where the steel is crimped ?
I ended up replacing it with a Baldwin purely out of convenience
(we go through approx 400 filters a year in our maint program at work and use all Baldwin with no problems ever)
I did buy a spare Allison the next time I went to the DDA dealer.

Did you run your truck with the WIX and were there any problems.I think I will be changing the WIX.

This has been discussed before, though I'm not sure if it was the Wix or not.
Though the circle is smaller, there is more of a "dome" to the cap, which still allows the fluid to get around the magnet and into the filter.

That's good to hear,i sure didn't look at that .Once I set the magnet I could hardy see any path for the fluid. Thanks
