I'm running stock tires (245/16) on 2500 HD CC, and the recommended tire pressure is 55 psi in front, and 80 psi in the rear. When I got the truck from the dealer, the tires were only inflated to 45 psi (made for a smoother ride off the lot I guess). I have since corrected the tire pressure to what is recommended on the driver's door.
Question, just wondering what tire pressure everyone else is using when running their truck empty?

80psi loaded, 60ish unloaded (smoother ride), way less off-road for traction.

I'll run 60 to 80 in the rear when loaded, but unloaded on my shortbox the centers of the tires will wear out REAL FAST at those pressures. Fronts will scrub, cup and wear fast if they aren't high enough to carry the engine weight. What has worked best for me is 55 in the fronts (all the time) and 45 in the rears empty - raised in accordance with the load.

I run 55 psi on all 4 corners, but I've only got a gasser. Also, 10 ply-285's. When I tow or haul, I fill 'em up.

Good advice
I run 50 or 55 all the way around until I tow then add to the rear depending on what I'm hauling or towing.

I'm with these guys - makes for a lot smoother ride just remember to pump 'em up with a load.
Thanks for the feedback. I've definitely noticed the rear bouncing around more with 80 psi, so I'll back it down some.

I run 50 to 55 in front, and 35 in the rear unloaded. I have a regular cab long bed. The rear end is so light, that I don't need any more than that. Rides good, and I don't get that center rib wear. Get much better grip on snow and wet pavement.
