I can't think of a better way to make my first post. I picked up my truck this afternoon and all I can say is WOW!!!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif Already forgot about the Ford she replaced.

I want to thank all of you for the information on this site. It was a great help in making my descision to buy the D/A.

A special thanks to Dmax Tim for the cert. You certainly made the purchase less painfull and more possible.

I was a good boy on the 225 mile drive home, kept her around 55, and averaged 22.4 MPG by the computer (1/2 tank of fuel). Gotta love that.

It is great to watch when you cats get your new trucks, as those of us that already have ours remember the joys of the first few miles. Trust me, the experience only gets better.

We've had close to 20 new GM trucks and SUV since the new body style and I still like getting in the new truck.

Nothing like the new truck smell and leather.

Mr Freeze glad I could help.

It also means we just got rid of some more doors http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Congrats ... having a child is almost comparible to getting a new truck. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif Do yourself a favor and hide your wallet now, or those accessories will get you!

Tophog, thanks for the warning but the hemorraging has already begun. Bed cover, running boards, mud flaps, etc... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif. But if I don't drain the wallet my wife will. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif Oh and by the way your right about the child comparison, but this way there's no dirty diapers.

Mr Freeze,

What's the story with the Furd you got rid of. It wouldn't be another 6.0 PS buy-back nightmare would it? Been there, done that, got a T-shirt. My Ford experience made my drive home after picking up my D-Max soooo sweet. I have to admit though, I was listening and looking for any and every little noise, tick, bump, glich imaginable for the first month. GM should thank Ford for introducing the 6.0. It had to have increased Diesel sales for GMC and Chevrolet. Love my D-Max. This sight is such a blessing. If you have any questions about anything with your truck, chances are someone on here has the answer.

Let's see what she looks like. Post a pic.

Bowhunter,

The Furd was a 2000 Powerstroke and I can't say anything but good things about it. It was a pullin' SOB. Now having said that, it doesn't even compare to my new Dmax. The ride, power, quiet, comfort and goodies are on another plane than my old Ford. I haven't pulled with it yet, but I'm sure that facet will be just as impressive. That test will come this summer pullin our 11,000 lb fiver to Alaska and back.

I'd show you a picture but she is just stock (so far). It might take me a little while to load her up. I'm still on probation over the pipes on my bike. She found out that Harleys really are not all that loud from the factory.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif Can't blame a guy for trying.
