I've got an '03 6.0 Ford turbo diesel the first diesel I've ever owned. On the mornings when the temp is in the 20's and lower 30's I let the truck warm until I see the trans temp gauge start too move (the engine temp seems to take a bit longer) before I start to drive. Is this a good way to do it ? If not please advise. Thanks for your responces.

Sounds like your doing the right thing. If I'm in a bit of a rush I will let it run for a few minutes, then take off and drive it real easy for a mile or so, and it seems to warm up pretty quick! Also they make an AIC (Auxillary Idle Control) which will help your truck warm up faster by holding the revs at certain rpm. Hope this helps? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif
