I spoke to a warranty writer(a friend of mine) at a local GMC dealership about the warranty being voided if I put a cold air intake and an exhaust system on my truck. She informed me that it would void it if GM could tie any warranty issue to either one the air intake or the exhaust. I have the diablo predator on the truck also and just figured if I had to bring it in just put the stock program back in before doing so and they would never know. Hope I am right about this part any way. So what are you all doing about the exhaust and intakes when you bring your truck in for warranty work? Am I suppose to switch everything back to stock? Please help! I really want to upgrade but I only have 11,000 miles on my truck and don't want to mess up the warranty.
Thanks
You would be waiting along time since the engine warranty lasts for 5yr/100k. Unfortunately if they say your modifications caused what ever problem you may have, it would be more difficult for you to dissprove than them say thats the cause and say your SOL. People will say you have the Magnusson Moss act to back you up, but if your like me, you have less money to spend on attorneys than the dealerships.

I know and 5 years is a long time. So somebody tell me what to do. I heard diesel repairs are VERY COSTLY and I don't have money for that either so I really don't want to mess up the warranty but I still want the exhaust and cold air intake.

i have all three exhaust intake and programmer, when I take it in i take the programmer off, but they are used to seeing straight piped rigs here in OK, never questioned the intake on anything neither. The programmer I wouldnt risk it for it only takes a few minutes to return to stock.
