Does anyone know about reseting computor after putting on biger tires ?
what all is affected, Spedo / trans / ABS ???? Took my 06 to the dealer & they were not able to reset, said the programing was different from 05.
Went from 245/70/16 too 285/75/16 on 10" Helo`s truck looks great !
Had to cut spoiler & zip tie enter finder skirts back, Have not adjusted bars yet.

the only thing affected would be the speedo. the abs is just operated by tire slide and the computer will adjust for the larger tires. if your stock tires were 245's the adjustment to a 285 is slight. the speedo will only be off by about 3 mph, 4 at most, and the easiest way to reset the speedo for the taller tires is any programmer. most programmers have settings on them that will calibrate the speedo if you know your tire size. i worked at tires plus for 3 years in high school before graduating in 02. Feel free to ask me any questions and if i cant answer it i will for sure point you in the right direction.

yeah and your also gonna need to crank up the torsion bars to keep the from rubbing on the inner fender, and the bumper more importantly, but the truck looks good im sure, im all in favor of bigger meats :ro)

Thanks for the info, I looked at programers @ $300.00 installed. I also talked to a dealer who can do it on the 06. Thinking about letting them ( reflash it as he put it ) & your right about the bars I cut enough off the front spoiler too clear but the back side of the fender wells still rub slightly on hard turns.Would the green keys be a better answer ??
Thanks

Story I got from my dealer is that the trans needs to be told that the tire size is different. If you read the dealer info it states that if there are trans problems reported make the owner put stock tires on the truck.

yes that is true about the transmission, but every decent programmer should have an adjustment on them to make it right. or just drive it normal and the tranny will be fine, i wouldnt worry about it.

i wouldnt worry about the rubbing, its not gonna do any damage to the tire, it might scuff the inner fender a bit but it wont hurt nothing, the truck will be fine.
