why on earth does he want more power????? an 05 6.0 is 300 horses stock, with all the up grades and the juice chip on max setting he prolly pushin close to 500 horses. why on earth does he want more power? that truck should be plenty fast

im no expert on the 6oh but i doubt the edge j/a will break 400rwhp. Get sct custom tuning that will get you good power, if that isnt enough beansdieselperformance.com has injectors that should do the trick. Sorry dont have a web addy for the SCT tuning surely someone else will know that.

defanatly no 500 maybe around 380, but still fast, everybody wants more power, even if you were around 500, you still will want more. Just remember the stock tranny can only hold so much, and even though the torque shift, doesn't limp doesn't mean its not slipping.

To add to Ski-Doo's point, Ford will be on the lookout for power mods--so if your dad has motor trouble he may not get any warranty repairs..

:exactly: With the trouble plagued 6.0 cutting deeply into Ford's bottom line the dealerships are asked to check for mods before completing any warranty work....

Has he considered water/meth injection? That would help with keeping the intake charge temp down, plus more HP. Just an idea.

Is it you or your dad that wants to "Stack" chips together? As long as its your dad and he doesn't mind the high possibility of loosing his 5yr/100k warranty on the motor, then I would recommend the new Edge Evolution 100hp. Allows for trans modification and is the only download type tuner to adjust Speedo that I am aware of for the 6.0 Also, just to let you know the factory transmission will only hold about 450 rwhp. I had a 2003 6.0 myself that had intake/exhaust/quadzilla 160hp/ PS 2000 propane kit and it layed down a nice 432 rwhp, but the trans was showing its weakness in 2nd-3rd gear shift and it did go into a "Limp Mode" once after my foot found its way to the floor about 6 or 7 times with in 5 minutes of driving.

So, If you going for 500 RWHP - keep in mind how long that trans will take it!! And if you do use a downloader to stack, make sure you understand that your local Ford Dealer will probably know it was in the truck and the warranty will NOT be honored.
