question about slippage. The other day I watched the slippage on my attitude monitor, it wouldnt slip when i was cruising and it was in fifth gear, but if i floored it to pass someone and it downshifter, it said it was slipping, is this supposed to happen? or does it only happen when the torque convertor is unlocked?

Any time the TC is unlocked the transmission is "slipping" because the TC is fluid coupled instead of locked and you wouldn't expect the shaft speeds to match. When you floored it and the TC unlocked for the downshift the Edge started showing the "slip %" because it was unlocked. Edge has talked about overriding the slip calculation whenever the TC is unlocked. I really wish they would! No flame to you, Chevyman, but every Edge newbie asks this question.

You will get different readings as the TC locks and unlocks. Will depend on driving conditions and how hard you are on the truck with acceleration and such. Pretty normal.. I am sure you will have tons more questions as everyone that installs this does.. Good luck.

Man, if Edge could only program the Attitude to display "UNLOCK" instead of a number when the TCC is not locked, that would be great!! You guys get that, Aaron?

I think you might want to call Aaron and talk to him about that. Might be something that can be integrated into the newer version at sometime.. Just a thought..

Any scanner will show you the same thing so the answer is to explane the numbers in the instructions on the Edge. That probably won't work either cause who reads instructions when you have the Diesel Place to rely on. ):h
