Yes, the grille and headlight assemblies are interchangeable. You will also need a new wiring harness for the headlights.

If you have access to a truck with that setup, all parts are interchangable and easy to do. I think the wiring harnesses unplug at the dr. finder well and interchange but not 100% on that. Someone else might know that one.

We did it on a 93. You can just cut the wires and attach the new ones, that's what we did. Pretty easy to do, just remove the grille and lights and headlight buckets and install the parts from the newer truck.

many things are interchangable from '87 to '00 (old body style). Frontend (lights and grill) changed in '94. Dash changed in '95 and slight change in'96, and '97. Engine wise, '87 to '95 are basicly the same, '96 and up are the same.
Easiest interchangable truck to work on.

I would try to find a close truck to steal the parts off of. That said though, the grille and lights we put on the 93 were from a 98. They should all interchange. The lights are better on the later models though so I would try to find a 96-98.

I did exactly that swap when I rebuilt my old 91 Z71. I didn't have to change the lights on my truck. The grille will bolt right up, but I think I had to relocate one of the horns. The trickiest part of the swap is the bumper shape is different between the 2 years. You will have to trim the filler strip between the grille and the bumper for it to fit. You will need the grille and the filler strip from the newer truck (mine was a 95 grille.) I would also second what nar said about the lights, the earlier ones went yellow and were much dimmer than the later ones.
