While doing a thorough cleaning job of the rig, I found a spot you guys may want to check for an accumulation of wet mud/dirt, leaves and possible 'rust through'.
Both front doors of my '05 LLY CC had an accumulation of the above just below the lower hinge in the fender well behind the little black flap (see attached photo). There is no way for this area to drain so it accumulates road dirt and leaves that fall behind the hood.
You'll need to open the front doors to access this area. I used a screw driver to hold the flap open while using a shop vac to vacuum the mud out.
Think it might be a good idea to drill a couple of drain holes, but they would clog up as well. Otherwise, I can't think of any other way to prevent the accumulation except by regularly checking these areas.
