Is there any way to wire up a manual lock up switch on the 4l80e?

There is some way to wire one up with some resistors and diodes... I don't know how though, that's why I bought a Torqloc. BD makes it. I only used it while pulling a trailer to keep the convertor locked up.

Yes. Tie into the grnd side of the tcc solenoid and run that wire to a toggle switch that grnds that wire. You probably won't like the results. The first time you forget to disengage it when coming to a stop will shake the vehicle.

He knows that; because that is how mine works. Mine is also grounded just like you talk about, but i thought it was a little more complicated to do than that on the 4l80's?

I have the manual switch on my '91. When towing, the converter unlocks under heavy load, which not only uses more fuel but really heats the fluid. Here is a link to a thread where this was discussed.
