i just did had the muffler removed and had a straigh pipe installed.
with the cat in place, there is only a little difference in sound.
would it make a big differents if i when to a 4" system?
i live in NY. so i'm asumming that i need to have the cat in place.

Probably not gonna make any difference at all till you take the cat out..

Yes a 4" system will make a big difference even with the cat in place. You will have a much larger and more aggressive sound as well as losing around 200 degrees on your egt's.

Yes a 4in straight piped truck is loud. i have it and love it. but do you all have emition testing in NY? if not then you can remove the cat. if you do well then i guess it needs to stay on.
