When I'm driving around I heard a ticking noise above 600-700 RPM's. Is this normal? You can't hear it idle though. I was thinking it might be on all diesels, but noticable on this one because of how quiet it is.
I have 360 miles on the truck and am loving it!!!!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
From what i understand this is normal. Just got my 04 Duaramax last week and i only hear it when the engine is warmed up and idling.

It's a little different for me. I just listened to it again when I went to lunch and you hear it when you are cruising above 1500 rpm's.

Mine used to tick like a type writter from idle to around 1500 rpms, but it seems to have gone away around 10k miles...only speaks up for a few miles after an oil change. If this is the noise, there is a TSB on it that states it is normal...for most of us it does go away with more miles. If this isn't the noise, hopefully someone else can chime in..

Might want to take it in to have it looked at. Not to familiar with the LLY yet, we have only sold one at our dealership so far and that was only two weeks ago. He hasnt had any problems that I know of.
