I have 2001 gmc duamax. yesterday morning i went out to start & warm up as usual. started right up-ran for five seconds & shut down. battery cranks it over fine. have had new injectors & latest fuel filter. 55,000 miles. this pile gets towed more than driven. anybody got ideas before i get screwed again by dealer. the outside temperature was about 30 degrees. 1/2 tank fuel. I might be saying that F-----ord word again.:help:

Did you check your fuel prime? How long has it been since you changed your fuel filter? That sounds like a classic "start and stall" from loss of prime. Don't open the vent, but pump the hand primer on the fuel filter until you start to feel more resistance on the downstroke and try cranking again. If this solves it, you may need the filter changed or might have an air leak on the supply side allowing the fuel system to "drain back" and you'll stall before it can refill the lines and filter.

the new filter was installed about 1,800 miles ago. yes, it is the latest correct filter. tried hand pumping with no results.

Could be non winterized fuel starting to gel up. Is warmer weather in the forcast?

Get a portable air tank and maybe try to pressurize.I was forced to do that the other night.Just dont use too much pressure. It's alot easier with someone pumping the hand pump while the other puts some pressure into the tank
