Well so much for the Allison realiability myth. New Allison with 1350 miles takes a crap. Service dept says looks like pump is leaking fluid lost 2 quarts in 1350 miles. Something about a new rubber seal that Allison is using. Also probably have to replace torque converter. Dealer service dept is going to fix it.

Any one know anything about this new rubber seal?


Why do they think torque converter needs replaced?


Always though Allison wanted to repair their transmissions.

When its your new truck it's a biatch. If you have the new LLY mated Allison, there may be some production start/growing pains but the trend should be even better than the previous Allison.


There may be Allison myth story telling at the other diesel brand sites, but a quick Allison problem search should relieve any fears.
