I have access to a 460 Racor filter head. I BELIEVE (and have been told) that it's the same as the 600 but it has the primer option.

I can get this head for a good price, but it has a R60S element on it. I can't find any information on Racor's site (it's too @#$%**&@ slow) about this filter.

IS the 460 head the same as the 600?

Will it accept the R90S filters?

Any help's appreciated...

The 400 series and 600 series filter heads from Racor use the same filter element. The difference between the two is the primer pump, which is included in the 400 series. If you decide to go with Racor, I would suggest you use the 600 series head. You pay a penalty for the primer in the form of an additional 1.0 inHg in pressure drop across the filter housing (400 series). The specs are contained in the PDF links below.

Hi Alan! And 1 HG can be the difference between trouble free and a pain in the but. Later! Frank

OC_DMAX,

Thanks for the info. I don't really need the primer pump for anything. The vendor that I'm going to get it from had the 400 series on the shelf, but will have to order the 600 series.

I'll go for the 600 series...

Thanks again,
