: What are you waiting for?

If you haven't ordered EFILive what are you waiting for? This is the most awesome thing I have ever used. Being able to scan your vehicle, reset codes, etc, and custom tune is incredible. The wife is already complaining about the "freeware";) I got in the mail (she'll never know). Why are you spending all of this time on the computer, and do you have to keep running in and out of the house, driving up and down the street?

Unfortunately it's snowing pretty good so no testing tonight.:( Thanks EFILive for all of the fun.

You said it Dave,

Why spend that kind of money on a generic, off the shelf tuner when you can customize it to your liking.

Then spend another $2000+ on a Tech II so you can only data log one thing at a time.

This is being overlooked because nobody thinks they themselves can write their own tune with it, well they can !!!

I have been playing around with it since Sunday and already figured out a bunch of stuff.

When you get that tranny done I'll send you something that Trippin and I are running right now that I just wrote that will make what I already sent you already feel like an economy tune.........

Trippin data-logged it and at WOT throttle it maintains adequate rail psi and even from a 70 to 120 mph blast he said it pulled really strong the whole way and was smooth.

I got your e-mail, maybe I'll send you the next level........

Great stuff guys, glad you are enjoying tinkering with your tunes yourselves. It's not as scary as many might imagine.

And how good is it seeing all that logged data to ponder over after a run........honey, just going out down the street for a minute....again ;)

Is there any plan to have a section in in the forum for sharing tunes???? As for making sure the tunes are valid (no destructive), maybe a mod can review the tune before allowing it to be posted... Just a thought.

We've discussed but haven't made a decision yet on a subforum for sharing tunes. Currently they'll need to be shared in this main forum. The staff will not be able to review and/or comment on the tunes officially. Tunes will be used at the users own risk. We would hope that malicious tunes don't show up and if they do they will quickly be discovered and reported at which point we'll remove them from the forums. Aside from this we won't be able to moderate tunes shared.

does it come with everything needed to hook up, is there a pamplet that can get sent out to a person with more about the system? What are some numbers that you tuners have been getting out of it(you can just pm the numbers if you would like) compaired to the other boxes and programs that are available to the public. sorry so many q's just trying to figure it out.

I got an HP at Walmart with wireless/AMD 2800 chip/ect for $378.00

The EFI-Live comes with everything you need.

I am more than happy to help any member and share some tunes.

I have sent tunes to two members already and I have been having a blast with this.

It will take some trial and error but I have figured out a lot in a short amount of time.

Since I have a built tranny I have no idea if what I am writing will destroy a stock transmission, I suspect from how quickly the boost climbs and the fact that it pulls like a train that it would set a few 0700 codes real quick.

Dave Lewis has one of the tunes I wrote and likes it alot, he has a stock tranny, for now, as soon as he steps up and get's his Suncoast I'll send him what Trippin and I are running.........

As Chad said, all this HP/TQ enhancing stuff is use at your own risk, if I send you something and it limps your stock tranny you were warned..........

how do these's tune compare to the EXTREME?

this is sweet....its just like the GP Control pc stuff for the cannondale dirtbikes/quads when they were around..

you could mess w/ fueling, throttle response, rev limiter and such

can you do that w/ this?remove speed limit/rev limiter?

Does this recalibrate the speedo for larger tires?
Does it allow you to remove the speedo limiter too?
Can you save different configs (like factory to take it back to the stealer, and your "perfect tune" for when you get it back from the stealer)?

What if you have an edge w/ attitude hooked up, can you still keep that? what sort of effect will it have on the program?

You could still run with the Edge, but you would probably then limit yourself as to how much you could alter the tables in the ECM without pushing it too far.

I ran the tune with the Edge at 0 but the Edge still adds timing. I can tell you that it pulls way harder than the Edge set on 5/5, but that is with the extra timing. I haven't tried it without the Edge (waiting on new gauge install, it's to cold now)

I am not about to quote HP/TQ when I have not dyno'd the tunes yet.

If Dave says his SOTP meter tells him it's stronger then a 5/5 OJ then that is his opinion of it......;) .........I will tell you all that that tune pales in comparision to the stuff I have wrote, Dave got that tune because he has a stock transmission.........

This may not be the proper place for this, here goes none the less!

Is there any plans to have software in EFIlive so it can do neat stuff like the G-Tech does? Such as 0-60 mph, reaction time, 330', 1,000', 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, horsepower, and torque.

With the LLY they say that you can control the vains in the turbo so I would think that you could fuel it real hard, but limit the turbo's boost thus making huge EGTs and clouds of smoke?? I have nothing to back this statment up....I dont know if it would work or not. More or less just thinking out loud.

Actually I have submitted a request for just such a thing. There is some debate on what wheel sensors etc to monitor and how tire spin would affect the accuracy of the readings. Still I feel it would be a good feature to have. They are considering my request. That's the long answer......

The Beta testers have noticed there is more to upping a rev limit or speed limit to actually get past those limiter points, you can't go faster than 100MPH if there is no fuel to do so........

I have programmed a 2003 ECM with my 2002 OS and sent it to a fellow member with a 2001 truck and even flashed his 2001 VIN# into the 2002 OS and all works fine.

The 2001 OS is OK, but the 2002 is much better for what he wanted to do.
