Was that one totaled?

Oh yeah, she was totaled. The reason being that parts weren't available at the time. I wouldn't have wanted it back anyway.

No, after looking at the windshield I'd have to say the driver won. If that was at 60mph I'd say the drive was one very lucky SOB!!!

Glad mines Green, YIKES!!

I too have a White 91 Chevy which was totaled. I bought it from my brother in law after the fact, wrecked with a 100,000 miles on it. It took a hit from a 10 wheeler dump trucks body while the dump was making a wide swing on a corner ( the pickup was parked & moved it 10'). It took out the rear window collapsed the roof and drove the rear post into the door so it wouldn't open. It only took me 4 hours to get it driveable ( not nice lookin though ), but this thing has been the most reliable truck I have ever had! Great truck for the $50 I paid for it. My brother in law recieved more money from the insurance company then he had paid for it 4 years before!!! 280,000+ miles and starts great at -30!!! Fran

That truck did it's job (crashwise) extremely well. I didn't get hurt much at all and it makes me feel safe driving them again.

I did, however, buy a Silver Birch one this time and NOT a white one.

I saw the crash tests on the 1/2 ton rigs. Scared the hell out of me. I was wondering how the HDs would compare. Seeing what happened to yours at 60mph makes me feel much more comfortable. The driver and passenger in the F150 would have both been killed at 40mph and the GMs and Dodge didn't come out much better, and they weren't even white! The Toyota was the only one that passed.

Well it's at least good to see that the trucks respond the way the dealer told me the saftey features would. Like the hood cover the windshield and the trans and motor/frame going down instead of into the cab of the truck. From these post even hitting a wall at 60mph the cabs of these trucks look pretty good, looks like most of the chevy guys were able to walk away. So, I guess safty is a good selling point.

Hey, you guys just have big dents.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif Do a Google on "Osterhagen train" and double click on the small pic. You can see the yellow top of an Optima battery. The other one was at least 75 yards away. This was the result of a 68 mph train catching about six inches of my front bumper.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Shocked.gif I had built the bumper tough and it was well attached to the frame. It stayed attached and the frame ripped in two at the front engine mount. Nobody hurt. The DS rear wheel just pivoted in place.

Would you believe that now before I approach a train track I look both ways REAL GOOD. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

This isn't my truck, but it was behind the local Chevy dealer. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/uploads/2CC_burn1.jpgin The guy was in the mountains with a camper and the bed loaded with gas and propane. Evidently the camper wasn't attached well and decided to pass him. He ended up in a ravine and saw flames starting so ran away and then sat and watched his truck burn. At least he won't have to worry about injector problems...

Hoot, you got a little too much negative mojo. Ever since you posted this I've had a bad feeling. This afternoon I pulled out and a gal tried to take my front bumper off. She only got half way before my frame horn caught her hood and folded it in half!!!! Couldn't move due to sheet metal pushed into the tire and anti freeze was leaking. My pics are after I took a couple brackets off, pulled the bumper down and popped the grill and turn signals back in. Anyone have an 03 GMC bumper and carbon metallic air dam for sale????

I'm just glad you and I don't agree on green keys and how far you can crank the front end. It saved me having lifted it.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
