Man I'm getting tires of waiting for performance mods. This section has died lately. I'm told Edge bata testing is almost here. In this high-tech world things are moving pretty slow. Well I guess as long as there products work well it will be worth the wait. What do you think?

You could by a duramaximizer. I can tell you from my experience with it that it will hold you over. Just be carefull though as it doesnt defuel during shifts and when its turned on all the way the first to second shift just plain doesnt happen so i would keep it down until you hit a higher gear....

Go ahead and jump in with both feet, but I'm using this logic:

1) The LB7 was far from a first round home run for ANYBODY tuning it, and numerous products for it are now obsolete.

2) LLY (The REAL LLY) development was never really finished in the aftermarket IMHO, and many mfrs seem to have orphaned it to move onto new (06+) projects.

Not rushing into anything here...

In this high-tech world things are moving pretty slow.

In fact the problem is the opposite, the technology under the hood is getting more complex with every model, it means instead of spending 4 months figuring out how things work, then what modifications work best you have to spend 6 months, 8 months.....
I don't think anyone is sitting around just delaying product just for the fun of it!!.
What might save the LBZ owners is knowing that the computer in the LBZ 'I have been told' is the same as the BMW, Audi Diesels and they can be tuned, so I guess hiding away in a workshop somewhere is someone working on adapting that over to the LBZ.

Cheers,
Ross

I think the 03 I bought sep 02 didnt have an edge until june of 03 and the attitude wasnt around til like september or october, and that was an lb7. As mentioned above, it can take a while but the good tunes are worth the wait

they now have the power pup but it will not be able to take the crazy larry program or have the outlook monitor yet(outlook will be avail. for the pup the end of january). if you wait until january they will have the triple dog with outlook and it will take the crazy larry program for a 200 to 230 hp gain. with the pup you are limited to the 110hp gain. for a extra 120hp I'll wait a month.

I just need to tow my 28ft race trailer, so the Pup will be fine for me.

Who has them in stock? I need one now... ;)

Lucky for me back when power mods were becoming available for the Duramax, it was a new thing, and I didn't have to read up on all I was missing. I do feel for you new model guys though. If I had to go stock now....it would really suck.

Alright so here's a question, how is Bullydog able to dyno 400+rwhp with the stock trans. since there isn't any upgrades yet? I wonder if they have a new and improved "shift improver kit" for the 6 speed):h

TA Dave

I didn't see anything about 400hp with the 06? In fact they don't even offer the 150 hp upgrade with the 06.

actually its supposed to be 458 RWHP and 936 RWTQ from the power pup.

The LBZ has been out for what? 3 months or so? And already people are tired of waiting for more power. The LB7 was out for a year or more before anything other then propane was out. (I am sure the 02`s had been out for a while before programming was here!)

Just relax young grasshopper, all good things take time.;)

So how much more power is the LBZ with tuning going to put out, with all these upgrades to this motor vs LB7 or LLY. Does anyone know if the 6 spd Alli is stronger or weaker than a 5 spd ?

About a 1000hp would be nice with 30 mpg....

IMHO the converter is still the weak link. The trans should be somewhat stronger with the upgraded internals (from what I have seen/read). I think the addaptive learning strategy has more of an impact on the stock trans holding power than anything. Hopefully they improved it.

The LBZ is still a 6.6L displacement engine with roughly the same size turbo(as the LB7 and LLY). So I can't see it making more than 500rwhp(or so) like the other DMAX's on fuel only. Just my .02

But the lower compression and the reworked turbo should be good for another 500 rwhp. :)
