I was driving home last nite, outside temp was 12°F, truck was at Temp(180°), and when I was doing about 15 mph and hit it a small cloud of smoke appeared for a second. It didn't seem like a heavy cloud, but simlar to a cold gas motors exhaust (disappeared very fast, unlike a "black" or coolant leak smoke that hangs for a bit). I never really noticed it before, but never paid attention. If I was driving at higher speeds and hit it, you could see the smoke for just a short second as well.
The truck is an '03 with 85K, Edge always on 1. The truck still runs as strong as the day I got it and gets great "fuel" mileage (19-21). Never had injectors replaced and always change the fuel fiter regularly.
Is this smoke just something it does when its cold?
Also, as described in a lower post, the truck seems to Surge at Idle. Not enough to show up on the Tach, but just enough to notice it. I put the Attitude to monitor RPM and it would stay between 675-680 pretty constant. The other posts I have read about the topic make it sound like if its the Lift pump that it surges worse than what I'm seeing. I did notice it last yr in the cold, but not so much during the summer. I never took it to shop, since the truck always ran so good.
