I had a autostart basic unit installed in my truck last week, seems to work well so far. They used the data box at least thats what he called it. The only place that installs astro in my area is apple auto glass and their installer with lots of experience quit and the new guy has only been doing it for a few months:eek: .The shop i got the auto start from has used the same installer for over 10 years and knew what he was doing, it took him about 3 hours to saulder all the connections, and he told me with the data, there is alot less cutting wires. He did a nice clean job and he gave me a lifetime warranty on the install. He has been in buisness for around 15 years and is well known in my area, i hope the product is as good as he says.

Good luck. Install is 80% of it. Hopefully you don't have problems with the other 20% ;)

They are probably middle of the road. From an installer standpoint they are far inferior. From an end user standpoint they probably aren't too bad. As long as it works, interfaces with the wait to start light and has the range and features you need you should be fine. If it quits, hopefully your shop will stand behind their lifetime warranty. Your warranty is only as good as the guy that sold it to you.

You should be fine, don't worry.

Viper..ain't all it's cracked up to be either. They have loyal customers but I know a lot of shops that switched over from Viper to astro start and never looked back. The external relays on the Vipers make for a messy install an a lot of wires among other things.
