I'm doing a secret santa deal and I got this guy who owns a duramax truck. He talks about how he loves to mod it, but is relatively new to mods for his truck.

Can anyone please find me an inexpensive mod (>$40) that will give a few horsepower? Or, will give it a more stylish look.

Currently: He has a turbo exhaust, boost stick, turbo, a hood, and a computer chip.

Here is a picture of it. Really, Idont know much at all about trucks, and just browsing around, things are so expensive! Thanks for ANY help you can offer.

I am sure you will find much for under 40 bucks.. I was thinking maybe you could get him a bug shield for the hood, no extra ponies but improve the look. Maybe for about 50 you can get one.. Just an idea.. Maybe some back up lights as he tows I can see, that would be a nice gesture... Good luck and welcome...

Do they make light covers for the front and back? I only found some for the back, chrome for 65.00

I think they make headlight covers, but most will not use them anymore. Tail light covers might not be a bad idea. Was just thinking if he travels and tows, the bug shield would be a good gift... Hope this helps..

Yeah vent visors or a bug shield sounds good, not sure if he likes a lotta chrome but maybe some chrome door handles or a billet grill. Iv seen them on ebay for bout that price, not sure how good of quality they are though.

How about some tie down hooks for the top of the bed rail that fit in the holes (steak pockets).

Well, you could buy a couple of fuel filters (you should always carry a spare fuel filter with you), or an Amsoil air filter may be good for some HP(about 50 bucks). A tow strap is a good thing to have in the truck. Also, a tool bag - sears, Home Depot and Lowe's all sell them and they run around 30 bucks throw in a Mag Lite and your all set.

1/2 a tank of diesel.

ain't that the truth...

seriously though, I can't see in the picture but if he didn't get a nice tip for the exhaust you could pick a chrome one up for about that price from one of our vendors here.

[shameless plug] How bout some diesel place gear? [/shameless plug] http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=18 At least a sticker ;) And telling him about this place would be worth more than 40$'s(mostly becasue us nuts will get him to spend over 40$'s in mods :D )

Here are some other ideas. Ventvisors(in channel is my preference). Talk to Max Power about some stainless steel sill protectors(and other bling bling acessories). Those things are cool and help protect the paint. Or go to the Ziano bro.s web site and get him some of that and print out all the directions. Or maybe a gift certificate for a detail job?(that may be over 40$ though???)

I don't see any mud flaps - how about a nice set of the molded ones with the bowtie for the rears?

Mud Flaps is what I would go with. That was one of the items I had the dealer put on when they rolled it off the carrier.

I've been looking around at vent visors for a good 30 minutes. I want to get a good set of 2 for a reasonable price.

I personally like the EGR in channel vent visors, but there are others who prefer the stick on. You will have to guess as to which kind will be best for your persons application.
