I think I have the wife convinced that We need to build a garage. I want to build something big enough to hold 2 vehicles plus a 35' fifth wheel. I've been reading the post on here and getting alot of great info. I've done some surfing to for plans but really can't find anything I like.

I'm thinking something 40' x 40' would be sufficient for me. But I think the only place that would really need to be 40' long would be where I put the fifth wheel. I'm no big mechanic but I do as much as I can myself.

Was wondering if anyone would have a set of plans I could check out or tell me the right place to look for them.

If you have room for 40x40, or maybe a bit more, then make it a 3-stall, 2-deep. Put a couple of lifts in the back :)

I see you said you wanted to build a garage for your needs right now. If you are not moving for a long time think about the future. Never know when you will want to buy a bigger 5'er, another car, a couple of atv's so on and so on. I built a 40x70 that seemed huge for my needs but I'm already invisioning the addition. :ro) As far as plans go there are many on the home plan web sites. After searching for what seemed like hours I drew up my own rough plan and had an archetiect draw up the final plan for the building permit. That way I got what I wanted since everyones needs are different.

Thanks guys, I'm just limited on where I can put it on my 2.5 acres. Most of my property is in the back yard and I'd have to cut a new driveway back there. I've been trying to buy a piece of property next to me that the guy hasn't paid taxes on in the last 5 years. It is vacant land but he uses it as a junk yard/party place. Since there is no house on the property there isn't enough back taxes on it yet for anyone to put it up for sheriffs sale.

This guy is a total DIRTBALL!! When I called and asked him if he wanted to sell it he told me no because he just bought a cement mixer!! That should say it all for this re-run.

I recently called the health dept and filed a claim because of all the tires, barrels, junk cars, and everything else over there. Still waiting to hear back from them.
