I have a 1994 6.5 in a chevy 2500 2wd. Unfortunately I am not in a position to buy a new truck. 233,333 miles
Question one what is normal turbo boost presssure towing under load? What is maximum turbo boost?
Under load it bucks occasionally, to me it seems like fuel starvation (when you let off it regains it's smooth running) I have a new PMD module (mounted with a heat sink) in it (one week) Where should I begin when replacing stuff? Lift pump? Tank strainer clogged? Help!!!
Lastly why is there a vaccuum in the tank when I open up to fill up. Doesn't this make the injection pump strain and the lift pump strain?

Do you have an aftermarket gas cap? May need a new one for the vacuum.

Also maybe part of your surge problem.


For the lift pump, loosen the bleeder on top of the fuel filter, turn the key on, does it pump fuel out? If so probably ok, the lift pump is only around 5psi.

As for max boost and such, I am not sure, I want to say around 10 psi, but that is probably a better question in the 6.5 tech section.

Did the new PMD end up with the right circuit board in it from the old PMD?

you have an 94 model which the lift pump is run by the oil pressure sender so you will have to start the truck before you open the bleed screw, to see if the lift pump is working.
