Hi folks, I have a new E/C 3500. I bought the truck with the full intensions of pulling out the rear "seat" and building a work-specific toolbox and rack system accessible from both rear half-doors. I have no need for the rear seat but need additional dry storage.
I am planning on doing the work myself but would like to know if anyone has built anything like this or had it done for them. Cheers!

How about after market stuff? Anyone have a work-related In-the-Cab set up? Any comments welcome.

I haven't seen any one post anything about removing their rear seat to install a custom tool box.

About the only thing I have seen like that is a box thats made to go under the rear seat for storage of smaller items.

You may be on your own for this one.

Good Luck

One of the guys on Tundrasolutions made one for his Tundra. It was made from plywood, covered with factory-like carpeting, and anchored to the rear seatbelt bolts.

Bodysurfer, I've got one of those Du-Ha bins in my truck. Works great and a fine place to store my spare fuel filters and some tools (including my 1/2" torque wrench for lug nuts).

Thanks guys, looks like I'll fabricate something. I need a lot more than a floor bin. I'll take some pix once I'm done. Cheers

I've been toying with the same idea myself but haven't got around to it yet . What I would really like is to make the back of the set fold down flat , like a CC , so I could keep the seats and have room for some good size tool boxes. Keep us posted with what you come up with. I miss my suburban.
