Has anyone installed this light? I want to put this on my 2500hd and am not sure how to do it. Do I need to buy the harness for the 3500 so the connector is there or splice it into the license lamp.

Any help would be great

Yes, I have. I didn't buy the harness.
You do need to drill some holes and use
some small stainless screws to attach
the light to the pannel.
Here's some Pictures (http://207.53.239.181/~terry/truck/3500HD-LED/) of it on my truck.

I cut the plug off and spliced it into my licence plate light harness- saved getting the extra harness. Solder those connections though!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif

Measure twice drill once. Seriously dont mount it too high up, or your tailgate will smash it to pieces, or at the very least rub up against it. Im not much of a builder or driller or anything, but man was I nervous as hell mounting it, In the end it was perfect. It would have been ten times easier marking drill holes etc if the back of the light didnt have that 1/2 nub.

I think the best way to line it up is just line up the center light with the center divet of the rear bumper cover and go from their. I measured the light, the width of the lower bed, 1/2 it, marked, measured, marked measured...said F-it and drilled away

Lay wide masking tape so you can draw on it.

Get the center by tape measuring from each end approx. half the width. Make two marks, one from each side of the tailgate. The EXACT center is between those two marks.Edited by: hoot
