Looking at buying a set of step bars and was wondering if one brand was better than the other or what i should look for as far as quality or the way they are mounted? Thanks Edited by: Dmaxin

Love the chrome plated stainless Westins and they hold up well to the bad weather and since I am about 250 lbs, they don't move when I step on them to get in!!

I love my black Westins. Moved them over from my 02 to my 04. Held up very well. I paid around $170 out the door.

Do they all typically mount the same way?

I have the Westin black alumimum oval nerfs and am very happy. The oval shape gives you a larger area to step on and just look a little different.

I've got the GM bars - chromed stainless steel. They are expensive aftermarket across the GM parts counter unless you can get an inside deal on them. They are a better buy if they come on the truck from the factory. What I like about them is they have a single step pad that runs the length of the bar as opposed to two individual steps like on the Westin bars.

My truck now has the Westin's and they have been great. My new truck will be getting the GM installed bars though. I got the GMS price on them and they are covered by the 3yr/36K warranty. If I were buying aftermarket again though I would probably go with the Westin's because they have been good to me. Smittybuilts are nice too but a little more cash.

I love the Westin Oval steps. No damage to black powdercoat from road salt, sand, gravel, etc. Yeah, I know the sig says TN, but I go lots of other places.

I have regular oval nerf bars. My uncle has the n-fab... I like them both n-fabs are pretty pricy, but they are cool.

Also I have the nerf bars that extend wheel to wheel with a step pad to access my tool box in the bed of my truck.. Thats a very nice thing also.
