We've got two between my dad and I. He hauls sand, gravel, lime...with a dump box--I haul corn, soybeans, wheat (most of the time) with a hopper bottom. His work is slowing down now and mine's speeding up!

His is a '99 International and mine is a '96 KW.

gravel trains here...164,000 gross...not many people can say that...unless your from michiganI had a machine that went to Detroit this past summer, the first time I've been there. I noticed flatbeds & dump trailers with 5 & 6 or more axles. I always wondered what was up with that, yall must have some wierd weight laws up there.

You have it correct, that is also why we can not go faster than 55 and four wheelers can do 70. So, little (80,000lbs) big trucks have to pay for the 160,000lbs big big trucks. Who says big business has nothing to do with government, if I was to guess this has everything to do with the auto/steel insdustry. MI is the only state in the lower 48 that allow it.
